Welcome to The Turn, our mid-month update on what’s happening with Annika and the ANNIKA Foundation, Academy and family of brands and business. On Monday, the fourth annual ANNIKA Invitational (which received a national media award for its exposure for the AJGA) finished a great tournament. Alison Lee shot three straight 71s and outlasted ANNIKA Academy pupil Shannon Aubert. After a busy and inspiring weekend with the girls, Annika awarded the trophy, congratulated all the participants and then headed straight to California for the Health Matters conference hosted by the William J. Clinton Foundation, kicking off the Humana Challenge. As part of her mission to help young people live healthy, active lives, Annika was part of a panel discussion on “Building Healthy Communities” with Susan Dell, Notah Begay III, Goldie Hawn and Lakeysha Sowunmi. She followed that by

New Programs at the Academy

The ANNIKA Academy has several new offerings for 2012, including the Player’s program in formats from one to three days, a New Golfer program designed exclusively for beginners over three days, and the Tavistock Cup Package, March 18-24. This amazing opportunity includes six nights at Reunion Resort, one ticket each day for the private Tavistock Cup and a ticket to the eccentric Tavistock Gala, a Lake Nona golf shirt, 18 holes of golf at Reunion Resort and a three-day golf and fitness package at the Academy. The Tavistock Cup is the annual match between Lake Nona, Isleworth, Queenwood and Albany. This is an incredible chance to get up close and personal with most of the best golfers from around the world, while working with Annika’s personal coaches at the ANNIKA Academy. ANNIKA & Friends Media Day
|
Annika will visit Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and Grand Boulevard at Sandestin's Town Center tomorrow to kick off the countdown to May’s inaugural ANNIKA & Friends celebrity golf event and a concert with Darius Rucker. Annika will hold a press conference at 10:30 a.m. Friday to share details of the event—including the first wave of celebrity commitments—and will be available for media interviews. All proceeds from the event will benefit the ANNIKA Foundation and local Northwest Florida Schools. A key Foundation partner is SPARK, which will hold a school ceremony and autograph session for SPARK kids and the Niceville High School girls’ golf team on Grand Boulevard’s North Park Lawn at 2:30 p.m.
